Professor Dhanusha Thambavita is a Professor in Pharmacy in the Department of Pharmacology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo, Sri Lanka. She obtained her B.Sc. Pharmacy (Honors) degree from the University of Colombo and a Bachelor of Laws Degree from the Open University of Sri Lanka. She obtained her Ph.D. for the research titled “Experimental Determination of Bioequivalence and Biowaiver Criteria for Selected pharmaceuticals in Sri Lanka”.
Her research interests are mainly in the area of pharmaceutical quality assurance pharmacometrics, pharmacokinetics, biopharmaceutics, formulation development, and pharmaceutical regulations. She has a special interest in laboratory base research based on analytical method development and validation based on HPLC and LCMSMS methods. Prof. Dhanusha Thambavita is a trained laboratory assessor for ISO 15189, ISO 17025, and ISO 17011. She also a qualified internal auditor for laboratory management systems.
She has experience in developing quality management systems as per ISO9000 / ISO22000 /HACCP / GMP / Organic / Halal certifications. She has involved in organizing and conducting training programs for various Government and Private sector organizations in Sri Lanka.
Prof. Dhanusha has published two books for university students titled “Professional ethics for Pharmacists” and “Introduction to Laboratory Quality Management System”. She has authored 8 research publications and 23 scientific communications and has received several awards for her research work.
