Dr.A.S.F. Shifra is a probationary lecturer at the Unit of Ilmul Advia, Institute of Indigenous Medicine, University of Colombo. She entered the University in 2008. She has graduated in 2016 with five first classes and 23 Distinctions in 29 subjects. She has given her service to the Institute of Indigenous Medicine as a temporary demonstrator for the departments of Kulliyat and Amraz e Niswan Vo Qabalat in 2017-2018.
From 2018- 2021 she has worked as a Ayurvedic Community Medical Officer at Ayurvedic Health Promotion Services, Galenbindunuwewa and at Musali Divisional Secreteriat, Mannar. During the period of government service, she has actively conducted various awareness programmes to prevent COVID-19, Dengue and NCDs and nutritional programmes to promote health of pre-school and school children, officers of governmental and non-governmental organizations, pregnant and breast feeding mothers and elders, mobile medical camps, programmes to promote herbal gardening at school and home levels, programmes to promote organic cultivation and various TV programmes to promote healthy life style among general public.
In December, 2021 she re-entered to the Institute of Indigenous Medicine, University of Colombo as a probationary lecturer and hopes to provide her fullest co-operation in achieving institutional goals after completing her M.D in Ilmul Saidala.
