Professor Chamindri Witharana

Prof. Chamindri Witharana is a Professor in the Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo. She graduated from the University of Colombo in 2006 with second-upper Class Honours. Completed her Masters of Philosophy in Wales United Kingdom and the Doctor of Philosophy in Giessen Germany. Further she received special training in Molecular Biology techniques in Harvard Medical School-USA, Moscow University- Russia, Max Planck institute-Marburg Frankfurt / Germany.   Her research interest lays on cancer research, Genetics and Molecular Biology. She has many publications in high impact factor journals. She was the president in Sri Lankan Academy of Young Scientists (2019/2020) and has established several projects to develop STEM education in the country.
